Mystery Tweets. Cap.2: "Cuba entertain me, please"

By the time you reading this post (if you are reading it on Monday 28^th of February 2011), I'll be crossing the Atlantic Ocean direction to Cuba.

Do you know when you don't plan a holiday and it just happen? Then, this it is for Charles and I.

A few months ago we went out with some friends. Some of them recently visited Mexico, others Panama and some others Dominican Republic. They told us it was a very pretty place to walk around and experience new feelings that here, in the UK, could ever sense even in a Latin Club, where in that moment we were having a drink. All nigh long, conversations flew in that direction. Mexico is “spicingly” attractive, Panama is “unlockedly” open and Dominican Republic as the great devotes of the everyday “Saint Sunday”. Charles and I really were green of envy. We also wanted to let ours hair down too!

Then, when we got home, we didn't wait a second. It was the fastest move I ever seen in my whole life. The MacBook Pro went as fast as we barely picked it at the flight. Luckily the sofa was next to the “flying Mac”. I also picked our beloved terrestrial globe and spun it until Latin America appeared on top.

– Why not Cuba? None of them have visited yet!

– You said it. Why not Cuba!

– Then Cuba it is!

And that is how our planning to Cuba started.

And now, for those who have read one of my tweets I wrote a few days ago... You know why this post is quite a lot to do with the new Apple event planned for this Wednesday.

Since the first day iPad appeared I just put more and more attention to this attractive new wave gadget, and since I am a second though technology woman (meaning I wait for second generation to come to buy it), you'll know why I'll be so desperate on Wednesday. We will be in Cuba until Saturday! This week is supposed to be a technology relax. However, how I could be relaxed when the gadget I have been waiting for more than a half a year is being released in that precisely week!?

Yes, indeed. I'll try not to think about it and enjoy my stay there. Wish me luck!!

Productos genuínamente falsos 2: evolution

E aquí una retaila de nuevos anuncios web de tecnología con un carácter "verdaderamente falso". Aunque no sólo son productos que muchos de nosotros ya los hemos visto sino que poco a poco van evolucionando, y yo me pregunto ¿dependiendo de qué? La respuesta no la tengo demasiada clara, al menos no empíricamente.

Ahora vienen los tablets. ¿Alguien sabe qué es la 'Android Tablet PC'? Las ingenuidades de falsificación llegan a tal punto que me cuesta creer que haya gente que se dedique a eso y que vendan conejo por conejo pero con tal estupidez de usar la liebre. En la segunda imagen se puede ver, ya que se presenta una imagen del iPad de Apple, pero modificando la imagen de dentro del producto. Verdaderamente es asombroso el ser humano. 

Y yo me pregunto ¿alguien lo compra? Pues aunque parezca mentira sí hay alguien, que si bien no los compra para su propio beneficio, sí lo hace para enseñarlo al resto de nosotros. Este es el caso de Stuart Ashen.

 

¿Es que hay iPads de diferentes colores? Me parece que a veces intentan asimilar la evolución de otros gizmos que salieron del mercado e intentan equiparar su determinación en el mercado. ¿A caso no os huele a chamusquina? ¿Os acordáis de la 'GameBoy Color'? Parece que se supone que despues de la primera generación del iPad, ya hay la segunda generación y a color de la carátula a escoger.

¡Qué grandes que son las estimaciones!

Free apps vs. paid apps

For the most of iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad users try to get the best of its products owned. However, to do so we have to enhance the device to whole new level to make it really useful. For that matter we download different apps to make the perfect device for the daily uses. The problem comes when all of this apps have to be paid. It is true that we live in a society that refuses to pay something that can be bought for no money. So there it comes when human being puts all its mind to care new ways of getting those needs for free. In the case of Apple app store it is already done. There are apps that has to be paid to own them, which that means they are good for its purposes, but there are others that actually are free and they are good to that purposes too.

It is also true that when apps are free we tend to download quicklier (without thinking too much) than the paid ones. It does not matter if the free apps are useful, the matter is that they are free! However, sometimes it is difficult to know whether a free app is really useful or not.

On the other hand, there are free apps that actually have the full features that a standard user needs, with no need to pay for the full version. Here there are some of the lite version of apps that mostly replace some of the features of the full version apps, which actually most of us only use when we have it.

 
First, Penultimate (for iPad). This app is sort of a virtual notebook. It costs US $3.99. However, for those that only want to write something down or just make a little drawing and use it casually, do we need to pay $4? NO! There is an alternative, Adobe Ideas, it is free and works for iPad, iPod Touch and iPhone!
Mind to be the same with Note Taker HD (for iPad).





Second, GoodReader (for iPad). This app costs US $1.99. If you are those that just want to read some documents that had been sent to your device, GoodReader is more than enough. It gives you the possibility to modify those docs that you have previously downloaded and "audio/video player and Safari-like viewer for MS Office and iWorks files". However, for those that only what to watch, zip, download and share documents, there are: PlainText for writing a document, ZipFileViewer for zip documents, Downloads lite for download documents filed on links. And, well, you guessed, they are all free!



In any case, these are some alternatives for those people who do not what to spend a lot of money for apps, and also do not need all of its features or not really going to use them very much. However, if you are of those people that really need every feature of an app, do not hesitate, buy it! Sometimes full daily work apps are not expensive when they are really need and used.

Además de esto, también encontramos otros ads que ofrecen comprar diferentes productos que aparentemente son reales y con "¡mucha calidad!". Ya... En fin, ¿Alguien sabe que es un Android Tablet PC? Aunque así se llamara un producto, la foto del ad no tiene desperdicio: ¡Te pagan por tenerlo! ¡Lo compras con -125€!








Este anuncio tampoco tiene desperdicio. Presentan un teléfono móbil con las mismas características que un modelo iPhone 3GS, pero con un toque de iPod Touch y un OS Android (cámara, FM, Java, etc...). La oferta es también es melosa, ¡te dan (te hacen) un 10% de descuento!







Otro anuncio que es digno de ser visto, que también trata de un móbil similar al de iPhone es el HiPhone. Este trata de ser como los demás pero con el último modelo hasta la fecha (2010), el iPhone 4. El diseño es muy parecido, pero parece aún mejor. Parece... Tiene Java, televisión y lugar para doble tarjeta SIM... ¡Y sólo cuesta 129 Dólares! (Unos 93 Euros)








El mismo anuncio semanas después se puede ver que el precio ha bajado ¡considerablemente!, y eso no es todo. Ya entra dentro del mercado europeo y regala una tarjeta de 2GB, con TV, dos SIM... En fin, sin más comentarios a añadir.






Otro y último anuncio de este post es sobre el iPad, lo encontré el miércoles pasado, con lo cual hace ya casi medio año que lo sacaron y aún me dicen que "Todavía no está en las tiendas".
Con todo esto, me viene un telele...

Fake Apple products on the web?

Recently I saw an ad in a web, you know this GoogleAds or other ones... This one had shocked me a lot. A company were giving fake iPads out! Couldn't believe it! Currently there are really odd companies which sells fictional Apple products! :S



Then I saw another ad, which a company was selling old iPhones 3G... However, this is not the shocking part, but they are selling all sort of colour iPhones 3G!!! I thought there were only black and white ones!!! Furthermore, it says “Good quality”... Ok, what is that supposed to mean? That iPhone has good quality colours, or screen, or is a good quality gadget? Nah! iPhone is an Apple product, it has the best high quality in technology! What were the ad companies thinking about?
